Rick Evanich, Managing Director
Richard R. Evanich is Managing Director of the Island Hotel. A savvy and astute hotelier, Mr. Evanich was previously with Ritz-Carlton Hotels for seven years. During his tenure, he served as General Manager for some of the company’s finest hotels, and played a key role in helping The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park attain the coveted AAA Five Diamond and Mobil Five Star status. He also lent his considerable business acumen to The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park and The Ritz-Carlton Boston Common. In addition, Mr. Evanich served as Director of Food and Beverage for the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel, where he oversaw a major renovation of the property’s food and beverage.
Bill Perez, Director of Food and Beverage
Bill Perez serves as Director of Food and Beverage at the Island Hotel. Mr. Perez has worked in the resort industry for than 20 years. Most recently, he served as Director of Banquets at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara, North San Diego, overseeing a workforce of 150. He also was responsible for the day-to-day operations of four restaurants and 24-hour room service.
Karri Urode-Abe, Director of Human Resources
Karri Urode-Abe is Director of Human Resources at the Island Hotel. Before joining the Island Hotel, Ms. Urode-Abe was Director of Human Resources at the 110-room Campton Place hotel in San Francisco. Before that, she was Assistant Director of Human Resources at the San Francisco Park Hyatt, a 360-room facility with 450 employees.
Bill Bracken, Executive Chef
Bill Bracken is Executive Chef for the Island Hotel, where he oversees the Palm Terrace Restaurant & Lounge, and a staff of 65 cooks, pastry chefs, stewards, and banquets and in-room dining personnel. In 1994, Mr. Bracken joined The Peninsula Beverly Hills as executive chef. During his tenure, The Belvedere was awarded the coveted AAA Five Diamond Award for 11 consecutive years. He joined the Island Hotel in 2005.
